I think the latest move by the Spanish government is what will drive confidence even higher and actually get prices to skyrocket! Surely reduced supply of property in Costa del Sol means increased prices? Of course the demand has to also stay level, but I dont see how people who’ve been dreaming of buying their Costa del Sol property all their life will be put off by increased government oversight – that can only be a good thing. Check this website, it’s got thousands of Costa del Sol properties, can be a bit tiring
I checked out Radvig’s link, if you want to buy off plan property on the Costa del Sol they have a long page with most new construction projects there.
Also look at the spanish lawyers site, it has most of what you need to read before buying a property in spain:
Be very careful!!!
Recently there has been alot of very dodgy sales going on.
The Spanish Government has just decreed that over 4000 homes are to be flattened after British tourists purchased properties from unlawful salesmen and then built their dreamhomes on the land.
There are legal advisors in the UK that are contactable but I recommend going to a legal advisor who specialises in this area….OR a specialist Estate Agent that has plenty of references and recommendations.
Good luck!!!
You bet. Spain is a good real estate market. Specially those areas close to the coast that are used as tourist destinations. Contact a well known real estate agent in Spain, and consider having Title Insurance.
Also have a full due diligence check on the background of the property you’re about to buy, in order to see if there’s any law suits or liens on the property. The title insurance company can help you out by providing a list of approved attorneys
Make sure all the property taxes have been paid, and also how much property tax you’ll have to pay and on what basis. Also check if you are eligible for any type of exemptions from the government depending on your immigration status.
It seems like property on the Costa del Sol is alive and well. Everyone has been saying it will go down for the last 6 years but its going well for those who jumped in and bought Costa del Sol properties. The important thing is to get a good agent, these people helped me in the past, http://www.fuenplaza.com
