The rules differ if it’s a “location meublée” (furnished) or not. (if it’s a “meublée” they can kick you out much easier – even when you’re in it)
It also depends on the contract. Everything is written in your contract. Get someone to translate it if necessary so you won’t have any unwelcomed surprises.
But I’d say that under normal circumstances (and especially if it’s not a furnished rental) you shouldn’t worry too much

It would be difficult to kick you out if you weren’t physically there. In fact impossible I would say.
